| The Youth Council is a group of youth involved in (or interested in starting) GSAs and QSAs in their high schools. The group meets regularly to discuss the members' clubs. Group discussions consist primarily sharing upcoming events in the GSA clubs, helping each other through obstacles encountered as GSA officers and members, and planning GSA mixers for their region. A TXGSAN staff member or intern is present at these meetings to help guide the discussion as needed, but the youth council members are encouraged to lead the meetings on their own. Currently, there are three active Youth Councils for the Austin, Corpus Christi, and El Paso areas. We hope to grow and eventually have youth councils across all Texas regions. Active Youth Council members who attended a Youth Activist Camp prior to joining the Youth Council have the opportunity to facilitate workshops at Camp the following summer. If you are interested in starting a Youth Council in your area, please contact us at info@texasgsa.org.
