WHOA. STOP AND LISTEN. BIG NEWS!!!! April is coming up and LGBTQ Youth activism is comin with it! April 15th is the national anti-LGBT bullying “Day of Silence,” recognizing the silenced LGBTQ voices in our schools and communities. We know many schools around Austin and the state of Texas are participating by vowing not to talk throughout their (school) day in order to bring attention to our struggles as LGBTQ and allied youth. However, the network felt like this wasn’t enough. In an effort to organize our 2nd GSA Mixer of the year we are instead putting together our first “Break the Silence” event of 2011. After your (school) day of silence, the Texas GSA Network invites you and your GSA club to Out Youth where we will discuss our experiences of the day and celebrate the organizing efforts our strong GSA leaders!
