Latebreaking Award Opportunity

February 28, 2011 – COLIN HIGGINS FOUNDATION, 2011 Colin Higgins Youth Courage Award {Info: http://www.colinhiggins.org/courageawards/index.cfm}. This award honors young people who "have endured overwhelming hardships due to their sexual orientation and/or gender identity, yet have handled themselves with the utmost grace." The award program seeks nominations of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit, and queer youth who have bravely stood up to hostility and intolerance based on their gender and/or sexual orientation and triumphed over bigotry through working for LGBTQ rights and social justice. Eligible nominees must be 21 or under and must be U.S. citizens. Self-nominations are not accepted. Funding amount: three award winners will be selected to receive $10,000 each.
