Texas GSA Camp: July 9-12th in Austin, Texas, at the Alma de Mujer.
The Texas GSA Activist Camp is a youth-planned and youth-led 4-day event that features interactive, hands on games, activities, discussions, and workshops that cover:
- Intensive Community Building
- Skill-building
- Political Education
- GSA Leadership
- Queer People of Color
- Fight for your rights!
- Lots of fun for Texas GSA Network members and future members.
- Meet new friends!
- Learn skills to kick-start and maintain your own GSA.
- Receive information about where Texas stands in the fight for equality, what role the Statewide Network plays, and what you can do to become part of the change!
- Bring back skills to make your GSA an ACTIVIST club and a strong branch of the network.
All LGBT and straight-ally youth can apply. Youth who will be underclassmen in high school GSAs or in middle school GSAs next year will be given priority. Youth of color, trans youth and low-income youth are especially encouraged to apply.
Camp cost is $20 to $100 suggested donation, although no one will be turned away due to monetary issues.
